Looks like I’ll be replacing the rear brakes on the Pilot tomorrow. They’re making a hell of a racket (FIL put some cheapo drilled/slotted rotors on it before that just chewed through the pads), and with the E46 currently taking a siesta I need to keep this lumbering beast in top-order.

Why in the world would you put drilled and slotted rotors on an suv. All they do is reduce unsprung weight, not increase stopping power. So what does it matter on a 7 seat suv

Like I said, they were cheaper than blanks at the time (I think he got them off Ebay). If I’m getting into driving situations where I have brake fade then I’m doing something wrong anyway.

When the brakes are only cool for a moment.

Lowered Pilot.
This doesn’t look terrible, but I don’t really get it.

Because shit’s tight.
Really though, if you have a FWD Pilot then there’s no reason not to lower it. I really like the look it gives off. Most of them are used as people movers anyway so I think a dropped height would accommodate an easier egress and ingress.
